Field Day 2008 - ARES of Cleveland Co. / SARC

Our field day was a success (not in number of contacts). I measured our success in learning, cooperation, fellowship and fun. We had over 40 signed in on the sign in sheet. We had 15 Shelby Amateur Radio Club members, 16 ARES members, 4 elected officials, 3 media folks, Bob Dewitt, K4RLD, Tim Slay, N4IB and over 19 visitors to the site. Our field day site was awesome for this type of operation. We put up 25 ft of our tower, a beam with 10, 15, and 20 on one station and a G5RV on the second station. The GOTA station was also connected to a G5RV. We had a GOTA station set up outside the hut and the two main stations set up inside the air conditioned hut :) Besides the storm and myself nearly going maritime mobile, everything went well. We're going to start planning the next field day soon :) Our tear down was efficient and quick. We were down in around just over an hour.
